![]() ![]() Just double-clocking the EXE file from within Windows once downloaded is all I needed to do. I did not have to create any bootable USB drives. It then flashed BIOS, rebooted, loaded Windows, and voila, problem solved. I downloaded the A11 BIOS update file from the French website mentioned earlier, and ran it straight from Windows 10. The Dell website only listed A02 and A03 versions, which would not install, as it complained that I already had a newer version. My laptop had the A09 BIOS version installed. There was output to the screen on powering up the PC and going through POST messages and Dell Logo, but as soon as Windows loaded, the screen would go blank. Connecting an external monitor worked, but the main laptop display would not. Connecting to the PC over Teamviewer showed that Windows itself was still running fine, just no output to the screen. Once Windows was installed, Windows Update automatically downloaded drivers for the Intel HD Graphics 3000 adaptor, and my screen went black after it was installed (posssibly after a reboot to complete installation). Clean install off Windows 10 Home 64 bit (version 2004, fully up to date) on a brand new empty SSD. I had the same issue as many people here. ![]()
